A REFLECTION (Luke 14: 1, 7-14)

TAKING THE LOWER PLACE. In today's Gospel Jesus offers some wise advice on table etiquette. For Luke, the story has implications for the relationship of the rich to the poor who gather for the Eucharistic banquet. Only if all members are treated with equal dignity can it truly be called the Lord's Supper. Parishes prosper when all are treated equally regardless of how much each can put on the collection plate.
